Explore the step-by-step procedure of performing the sacred Maa Baglamukhi Yajna, Havan Kund requirements, and scriptural guidelines.
ॐPreparations & Sacred Ingredients (Samagri)
An authentic Maa Baglamukhi Havan is performed using specific ingredients that carry the yellow energy of the Goddess. The main Samagri includes: yellow mustard (Pili Sarso), whole turmeric (Haldi Ganth), dry ginger (Sonth), yellow flowers (Champa or Kaner), pure cow ghee, and sesame seeds. The Havan Kund is usually triangular, which is the shape of the Goddess's yantra, capturing the cosmic vibrations.
ॐSankalp and Invocation
Before igniting the sacrificial fire, the Vedic Pandit performs the Sankalp (declaration of intent) on behalf of the devotee. The devotee states their name, parentage, gotra, birth details, and the specific purpose of the ritual (such as court case victory, protection from enemies, or business clearance). Following the sankalp, the priest performs Ganesh Pujan and invokes the guardian deities (Digpalas) to protect the ritual space.
ॐOffering Aahutis and Poornahuti
Once the fire is consecrated, the priest chants the sacred Baglamukhi mantras and offers ingredients into the fire. Each offering is made with the word *Swaahaa*. For specific protections, specialized havans like the Lal Mirchi Havan (offering whole red dry chilies) are performed. The ritual concludes with the Poornahuti (final offering), where a dry coconut filled with ghee, yellow clothes, and sweets is offered to the fire, followed by a sacred Aarti and distribution of ashes (Bhasma) as protection.
